Welcome.  The web-based mobile scorekeeper for use with most phones/PDAs does not use GPS. There are two Android 2 phone apps that use GPS.  There is a GPS app and a scorekeeper/GPS app.

You mark the green locations yourself using the Android apps by just being on the green and pressing a button.

You can add courses here on the website if the course is not already in the database.  The course directory is here.  The Android scorekeeper/GPS app can add courses, but it is easier to use the site.

I have a Motorola Droid and use the scorekeeper/GPS app.  Previous years, I was using the mobile scorekeeper.  The Android apps are new this year.

This might be a stupid question, but does the phone application use sattilite posistioning or the triangulation method?

If any one has used the phone application can you reccomend it?

Is it easy to map your own course?

Thanks for your help and patience,

Matt.

Palisades State Park was already in the course directory, so you didn't need to create a new course.  I will work on joining your scores and mapped greens to the original course record later.

Here is the course:

You really have the hang of using the app and do a great job of setting up courses...it just wasn't necessary that time.  In general, if you are playing a course in Utah it should already be in the course directory.  It's too bad that you couldn't find it using the app.

I birdied both par 3's on the back nine.  I don't do that very often.

#17 was a 3 wood against the wind.  I hit it pin-high on the fringe and made the long putt...35 feet or so.

one of each, but both were pretty short ones, nothing spectacular haha.

22 putts is sweet.  Half of your birdies where when you were off the green.  Putts from the fringe or chip-ins or one of each?

Great time for a great round...medalist in a high school event.  17 greens in regulation with 30 putts and no bogeys is outstanding.
