this Illinois winter is sucking so far... new irons sitting in the bag, and i still haven't been able to hit them on the course.  planned on going to Alabama to the RTJ golf train next weekend but it looks like it's going to be cold there too...

cnixon83

i hear ya.... i've been playing a lot of golf in the last month and i can see my handicap going up as soon as i post the scores.  i can't remember shooting 1 round in the 80s, let alone 2 in a row.

Jim

I hope they fix the skin payoffs for ya.

About 5 weeks off from work, for me it seems like the more golf I play the worse I get lol.  I have my highest handicap during prime time then it drops dramatically for the end of the season.

cnixon83

thank god that tournament is over... i'm burnt and tired.  couldn't hit a fairway to save my life, couldn't putt the greens (old course with domed greens).  iron play was so-so.  got screwed on a skin... $300 skin on #3, i hit a 7i close and made birdie.... went to the course thinking i was gonna take home some $$$ and see that nobody hit a skin until #7, the club pro didn't mark that i was participating in the skins.  5 weeks off from work, time to get my game together.

Jim

No biggie...I hope you have better weather for the tournament next weekend.

Yep...scoring low in a practice round is one thing and scoring low in a tournament is another.

I started out with an eagle on #1 in Saturday's tournament.  Knocked in a 60 degree wedge from 75 yards out.  Woohoo!  I hit another one in from 50 yards out on #16 for a birdie after chunking a 4 iron.  Didn't win anything lol.

I birdied both par 3's on the back nine.  I don't do that very often.

#17 was a 3 wood against the wind.  I hit it pin-high on the fringe and made the long putt...35 feet or so.

one of each, but both were pretty short ones, nothing spectacular haha.

22 putts is sweet.  Half of your birdies where when you were off the green.  Putts from the fringe or chip-ins or one of each?

Great time for a great round...medalist in a high school event.  17 greens in regulation with 30 putts and no bogeys is outstanding.

Nice round.  I kinda like that course.  I've only played it once and that was about 2 years ago for the company's annual Accounting vs. IT bragging rights tournament.  It was a 2 man scramble format....Accounting won easily, but I won the first match.  We changed teams every 6 holes.

I helped IT win last year at Riverbend.  It had been a long time since IT won.
